About Ashley

Thanks for visiting my site and getting to know a bit more about me!

I received my Bachelor of Business Administration in Entrepreneurship and Small Business from Auburn University, and my MBA and Master of Science Degree in Marketing from the University of Texas at Dallas. During all this, I worked full-time as a senior analyst and team lead at a large telecom company leading cost improvement initiatives for North America, as well as with numerous small businesses and start-ups directing marketing campaigns, customer retention strategies, and entrepreneurial growth plans.

While working full time as an analyst, I also decided to start two small businesses – both were outlets for me to help others and bring my love of entrepreneurship to my daily life. One was a fitness and nutrition company and the other is the small business consulting firm you see here – Accorey (a combination of my maiden and married name). What started as a graphic design company slowly expanded into logo design, branding advice, financial consulting, and then all around business consulting. While I don’t get to consult as much as I used to, I still love to create things. My husband and I actually run a small Etsy shop where we sell small handmade goods as a hobby!

It was my job as an analyst and working with clients through Accorey that I really started to realize that my passion was research! In Fall 2018, I joined the University of Tennessee, Knoxville to pursue my Ph.D. in Strategy, Entrepreneurship, and Organizations. My current research interests stem from my love of entrepreneurship and include how entrepreneurs communicate with stakeholders in order to influence others’ decision making, as well as how an entrepreneur’s decision making changes their ability to obtain, change, or sustain social support.
