Thanks for visiting my site and getting to know a bit more about me!
My life so far has lead me across five states, numerous jobs, and plenty of new adventures! After getting my undergraduate degree at Auburn University in Alabama, I moved to Dallas, TX with my husband while he pursued his PhD and I got my master’s degrees. While working full time and going to school, I severely struggled with my weight. In just six short months in TX I had gained over 40 pounds!!
Not having enough free time, working many nights in the office until 2am, and just stress from life left me feeling sluggish, my clothes not fitting, and just overall disappointment with myself. Enter in working out! Given how much I love learning, I decided if I was going to spend so much time on my own fitness, I should educate myself on the proper fitness and nutrition methods to get myself back into shape. I decided to get my NSCA personal training certification and then my NASM fitness nutrition certification. After training hundreds of women, the opportunity presented itself to move to TN to pursue my PhD (shoutout to my husband for encouraging me to take this crazy leap of faith). While my PhD is not in fitness and nutrition, they both are still a huge part of my life and one of the main ways I find my joy – through helping women!
After moving to TN and starting my PhD, I decided I needed some help with Rocca. Enter Amber! She is a badass, hardworking, always looking for excitement person. She’s been a great addition to the Rocca team and has helped even more women reach their goals. She has her personal trainer certification from ACE and has taught powerlifting, Olympic weightlifting, and similar to me, has also helped train women to compete in bodybuilding competitions!
